Cold Night Ahead
They are predicting the coldest ever overnight temperatures here in Florida. They say records will fall tonight. BRRRRR. I came to Florida to be warm, and for the second year, the temperatures have been cooler than average. You might figure!
Drivers Confidence Course
On Tuesday of this week Ellen and I, as well as our friends Gary & Sandy Williams and Richard & Joyce Gale, went to Lazy Days RV Center in Seffner, Florida to attend their Drivers Confidence Course. We went mainly for the wifes so they would have the opportunity to drive a Diesel Motorhome without the husbands being the teacher, a lot less stress that way.
There was an 1 1/2 hour class period in the morning that went over the basics to driving a motorhome. The instructor had a "DOT" system that he used for driving, turning and backing up, that was very unique. He went over many things relevant to driving something that is 8 1/2 feet wide, 12 1/2 feet tall, 40 feet long and weighing 15 to 18 tons.
Then in the afternoon we were all able to drive around the Lazy Days campground. The men of course were able to navigate the area with not much trouble, but not without learning something in the progress. The women did much better than I thought they would, navigating thru parked cars and motorhomes throughout the campground. The women learned a lot and I must say it was a day very well spent.
