Allegro Dinner

While here in Florida we try to get together with some of the members of the Allegro Ramblers #28 motorhome club from Michigan. There are about 10 couples from the club who winter here in Florida. We met at Der Dutchman Restaurant in Sarasota, FL for Brunch yesterday, Jan 21, 2015. As always the buffet was very good, probably why we go there. We had six couples from the club and a couple who are good friends of one of our members join us also. It is about the same distance from everyone. Here are a couple of pics of our group.

Piper Aircraft Plant Tour

Being that my wife and I are both pilots we decided to take the free tour of the Piper Aircraft Plant. Two other couples from our campground, who are also from Michigan, joined us for the tour. It is a walking tour with a gentleman who takes you through the plant. Well the gentleman who was our guide had a somewhat soft voice so with ear plugs in your ears to protect them, it was very difficult to hear or understand him. Also I had expected to see a completed aircraft at the end of the tour. What we saw was almost entirely the metalworking portions of the aircraft assembly. No completed aircraft at the end of the tour. We did see the instrument panel shop where they assemble the instruments and make the wiring harnesses that are installed in the aircraft. All in all I was somewhat disappointed with the tour. Also they didn't allow cameras in the plant so I couldn't include any pictures.
