Need Hip Surgery
Yes, to make a long story short, I need both hips replaced. Am having the Left one done on Aug 31 and might have the Right one done in Florida this Winter. Will have to see.

Been To Long
Well again I have procrastinated and not posted here for way too long. I am going to have to set some kind of alarm so I can remember to post my activities.
We left Florida on Friday, April 28th, at 8:30 AM and arrived back in Michigan On Sunday, April 30th, in the afternoon. Traffic was not bad and we made good time while driving. Kept speed below 60 MPH most of the way back. Nothing to be in a hurry for.
Have been having trouble with my legs because of pinched nerves in my back. Had doctors appointment on May 2 and had my suspicions affirmed, now am waiting for appointment with surgeon and will probably have to have back surgery again to fix. Getting old is no fun.
Had wife's relatives camping at the campground we stay at in the summer for the Memorial Day weekend. Got to see everyone again after a long winter absence. Wife always brings trinkets for the kids from Florida.
That is about it for now. Will try to keep up on this Blog more often.

Happenings
A lot has been happening lately. Most of the seasonal inhabitants are here now and all settled in. The Tuesday morning breakfasts have started as well as the Hot Dog lunch on Thursdays. Shuffleboard is in full swing, lawn bowling as well. The fund raisers have started as well as Jams night on Tuesdays where you go and sing what you brought. Sunday mornings have a non denominational church service at 8:30. A retired minister who used to stay at the campground officiates the services and his wife plays the piano.
I go up to the porch most mornings and sit and drink my coffee. There are four or five others who join me and we sit and solve the world's problems. We are on a first name basis with Donald, LOL. Picture below is of the porch.
Ellen goes and does aerobics on Mon, Wed and Fri mornings, goes on Tuesday evenings to the Jam session, goes to the entertainment on most Saturday evenings, Friday mornings is a sewing bee type of get together where you bring what you are working on, goes to the ladies luncheons each month, and goes to Disney every Thursday with our friends Gary & Sandy. She always has something going it seems.
Our Florida luncheon with the Allegro Ramblers #28 Tiffin Motorhome Club in Michigan is coming up on Feb 1, 2017. I will take some photos and post them for all to see.

Catch Up
Well it's been way too long since I last posted on this blog. I have been reminded by a good friend John S. So I will try to catch up here now.
We had three items on our motor home that were covered by an extended warranty by Tiffin Motor Homes. We stopped on our way to Florida last fall and there was a six week wait to get things done. We made arrangements to have these items fixed when we headed to Florida this winter as we could leave a month earlier than we did last year. So we left Michigan on Sept 10th and headed to the factory. We found out before leaving that Tiffin was farming out these repairs to an independent company they had they had trained to do. So we headed there and had the three repairs done in four days. Wow, weeks less than we thought it would take. Then we headed to the Tiffin factory to have four minor warranty items repaired. This was done in what they refer to as an express bay. Whatever they can do in three hours can go to an express bay to be repaired. The scheduler came and looked at what we had to do at 10:00 AM, we got a phone call to be at door '32' at 12 noon and pulled back out at 2:55 PM all done. We had left a month early to go to Florida because we knew we might spend a month or better at the factory and here we are done with all the repairs in just 8 days. So happily we left and headed to Florida getting to our winter home on Wednesday, Sept 21. So we have been here seven weeks so far this winter.
While here those seven weeks we had a hurricane move up the eastern coast of Florida. The weather men had a field day telling us how bad it was going to be with high winds and lots of rain. Well we had one breezy night, not hurricane winds by any means, and only 1.25 inches of rain. So much for the big bad hurricane. Having not been through a hurricane before I didn't know what to expect, but was told by the locals that we dodged a bullet. Had the hurricane come onshore just another 10 miles or so it would have been much worse.
Well that just about brings thing up to date. I will try to post more often John.

Cooler Temps
It looks like it will cool down for the next week. It had been 10 to 15 degrees above normal for the last month to month and a half, that's 85 to 90 with a lot of sun to go along with it. Now we will be seeing highs in the high 60s and lows in the low 50s. I will admit it was getting a little warm for me so am looking forward to the cooler temps.

Above Normal Temperatures
We have been seeing temps that are 15 degrees above normal for the last month or so. The humidity has been high as well making the temps feel even more hot. We haven't had a lot of rain so it is pretty dry here.
The park has been filling up for the winter with only one campsite open, and that will be filled tomorrow.
The wife has been using her resident seasonal pass to Disney at least once a week and sometimes twice. They make many changes through out the park for the holidays as well as many Christmas shows and programs. She is lucky in as she can ride to Disney with another couple in the park leaving me the car to use if necessary.
The weekly breakfasts, held on Tuesdays at 8:00 AM, have started again. We always go and attend the breakfast which includes scrambled eggs, pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy. the cost is $5.00 which is a bargain. The weekly lunches started as well on Thursday at 11:00 AM, which we also attend. They have hot dogs and a bag of chips for $1.50, BBQ and a bag of chips for $3.00, and a small salad like cole slaw, potato salad or a fruit cup for $0.75 extra. These two meals are used to generate funds so the campground can have bands and entertainment come in to entertain us. This way the entertainment is usually free to attend.

Back In The Warm South
Well it's been over six months since I have posted here. Shame on me. I will do my best to post here on a more regular basis.
We arrived here in Florida on Oct 21 after taking a side trip to the Tiffin factory in Red bay, Alabama. I have three items that need to be replaced / repaired that are under extended warranty. It would have been a six week wait until they could have got to the repairs so got a work order to come back in September 2016 and have them addressed.
We have been here about six weeks now and I have built us a new picnic table, the ones at the park are minimal to say the least, sealed it to protect it from the high heat as well as water intrusion, added spacers in the basement to stop the plastic totes we have all out stuff in from climbing up on top one another, rearranged the items on the slide tray to better utilize the space and had to install new house batteries as the ones we had finally gave up the ghost. They were going on 6 years old so they lasted pretty good. Was able to find Trojan Batteries at a good price so went with them. They are not usually priced as low as I found them for so got to go with the best battery for the application. I'm sure they will last me another five or more years if taken care of like I took care of the old ones. Below are pictures of our new picnic table and the new house batteries.
